About Birds Eye View Project

The Bird’s Eye View Project uses extreme sports to raise awareness and funds for the extreme needs of veterans and first-responders – supporting the challenges they face every day. The Birds Eye View Project’s mission is to bridge the growing divide between those who serve and those who benefit from their service by encouraging all Americans to support those who support us.

Ikonic Tonic had to deliver what no other agency in the world could deliver. Bold statement? Yes. But true, none-the-less.

It started with a phone call to Ikonic Tonic’s founder, Lee Sammartino, from Purple Heart recipient and wounded veteran Navy SEAL, Ryan “Birdman” Parrott. It wasn’t to build a brand, rather, to get Birdman his wings by teaching him to skydive, BASE Jump, and fly wing suits. Ryan had no idea Ikonic Tonic even existed, nor what we do. He only knew that he wanted to do extreme events to raise funds and awareness for veterans and first responders wounded in the line of duty.

Ryan already runs a burn foundation called Sons of the Flag. He is relentless. He takes the tenacity and dedication that makes a Navy SEAL and applies that to his professional and personal life. Normally when we get calls half as crazy as this, we don’t think it will go any further due to the time commitment, high-risk, and dedication required to turn an idea like this into a viable brand, no-less, one that is a non-profit.

Objective

Ikonic Tonic was engaged to take Birdman’s vision – more of a cocktail napkin idea like Wylie Coyote sketches to catch the Road Runner as we all now joke – and turn it into a viable brand that produces over-the-top events to raise funds and awareness for veteran and first responder charities. Whether it is running 100 miles in 24 hours, riding a PBR bull in competition, demonstration jumping into stadiums and events, or producing stunts to capture the public’s attention, the Bird’s Eye View Project relied on Ikonic Tonic to build the brand, and still relies on Ikonic Tonic to take Wylie Coyote’s crazy ACME rocket sketches and turn them into marketable events.

Approach

Ikonic Tonic has no shortage of experience in extreme sports and the adrenaline lifestyle. We brought the experience gained from three decades of being action sports athletes, producers, marketers and cinematographers to build a sustainable brand to bridge the endemic extreme lifestyle with those who need their story told the most – wounded veterans and first responders.

Results

Since 2015 when we developed the Bird’s Eye View Project brand, Ikonic Tonic has been working with the organization, developing over-the-top events to help raise funds and awareness for veterans and first responders.  Whether producing content for film and TV, organizing and managing a crane BASE jump into a sold out stadium for a celebrity softball game with Toby Keith and Matthew McConaughey amongst other celebrities, training Ryan for wing suit flight in the Swiss Alps, designing company apparel, or trade show booths and collateral, Ikonic has been the Bird’s Eye View Project’s “goto” agency partner.

Results
